Health and Safety Information

Health and Safety Precautions to be observed during and after pest management treatment.
  • Please inform us of any pets, personal, family, or staff allergies, or other health concerns.
  • Individuals who are particularly sensitive or prone to allergic reactions should stay out of the premises for a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours. They should only return after the premises have been fully ventilated. Keep air-conditioners on vent mode for at least four hours after the treatment or before re-occupying.
  • If there is suspicion that someone has entered a treated area and experienced adverse effects, contact the Poisons Information Centre at 13 11 26 and have this notice readily available.
  • All food items and utensils must be covered before treatment, following the provided instructions.
  • During the treatment period, remove or protect all people, animals, birds, or fish. Keep pets away from treated areas until they are dry and any residual odor has dissipated.
  • Avoid contact with treated surfaces until the insecticide has completely dried, which may take anywhere from one to twenty-four (1–24) hours.
  • For external treatments, close all doors and windows during the procedure and keep them closed until the odor has dissipated, which may take three to twenty-four (3–24) hours. This is to prevent any odor from entering the building.
  • When accessing or working in roof voids and/or subfloor areas, wear overalls, gloves, and a respirator to prevent contact with insecticidal products. Wash overalls and gloves immediately and separately from other laundry or dispose of them as soon as possible.
  • Follow any verbal advice given by our firm or our licensed technician at the time of treatment.

IMPORTANT DICHLORVOS SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Due to the severity of the pest infestation on your premises, you have chosen a treatment involving insecticides. Insecticides, also known as pesticides, are substances designed to eliminate insect pests by exerting a toxic (poisonous) effect that interferes with specific life processes within the insect. However, it’s important to note that they can pose adverse reactions, particularly in sensitive individuals. To ensure your safety, it is crucial for you to understand and strictly adhere to all the safety protocols outlined below.

BEFORE TREATMENT

Ensure all food items are removed or sealed, and utensils covered. Cover plastic items like stereos and computers, as well as leather goods such as sofas and chairs. Evacuate all individuals, pets, and plants before treatment. If aquarium relocation isn’t possible, cover with impermeable film and turn off the pump. Turn off naked lights and gas pilot lights. Seal the area by closing doors and windows, and switch off fans and air-conditioning. Inform personnel about the treatment, advising those with asthma or sensitivities to avoid the premises for 24 hours. MSDS available upon request. Open all cupboards and notify the Fire Brigade if fire detection systems are installed

AFTER TREATMENT

The premises must undergo thorough ventilation before occupant’s re-enter or the structure is reused. All doors, windows, and ventilators should be opened, allowing for at least thirty (30) minutes of thorough ventilation. Air-conditioners must be switched on in open vent mode and left in this mode for the remainder of the day to bring in fresh outside air. For large structures like a Grain Silo, longer ventilation periods may be necessary, potentially requiring forced air ventilation, such as powered fans.
I acknowledge that I have received and understood the above procedures and agree to adhere to the treatment requirements. I understand that any issues resulting from my failure to follow this advice is my responsibility.
